| Flash ATA PC Card (PCMCIA) |
Flash ATA PC Card is removable data storage in standard PC Card (PCMCIA). PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) is an organization, including about 500 companies, which have developed a standard for small, credit card-sized memory devices, called PC Card.
There are three types of PCMCIA cards:
TYPE I cards can be up to 3.3 mm thick and are primarily used for expanding RAM and ROM cards.
TYPE II cards can be as thick as 5.5 mm and are typically used in modems or fax modems.
TYPE III cards can be as thick as 10.5 mm and are mostly used for portable hard drives.
PC cards offer a high-capacity storage solution, which operate similar to hard drives, but are fast and portable like solid-state removable storage devices.
Flash ATA PC Cards are used in a wide variety of network and telecommunications equipment, medical devices, and portable test and measurement systems.
